Beginner's Bike Rides
There is going to be another couple of "Bike Ride for Beginners" at the Taupo Events Centre on Wednesday 17 and 31 March from 5pm, leaving at 5.30pm.
It is a follow up from the BikeWise Family ride. It will be real easy, with the focus on building people's skills. We will probably follow the same route along the Rotary Ride to Owen Delany park. Should only be an hour or so.
Anyone who wants to join in, please come on down. Sorry, no free sausage this time!
After that it will depend on interest.
Contact Cath (027 280 4005), if you need to find out more.

Track Crew News - March 2010
Thanks to the little people that come out at night and fix the tracks and JB for getting the paint can out on the new Tunnel track icon. Lots of people ferret away in their own time improving the tracks we all ride on don’t be shy and ask if you can lead a hand.
I got an ear full from some of the older users of the tracks the other day. If you come up behind some walkers please slow down and let it be known you are there before passing. Don’t take it for granted that they can hear you coming. We have always taken the stance that we are not that pea brained about sharing the tracks we build plus showing respect to other users will only lead to more tracks opening up to MTB around the area.

The idea behind this project is to create an epic ride of the Central North Island.
Imagine:
- riding down to the Taupo boat harbour after breakfast in town
- catching a shuttle with your bike and tent
- getting dropped of on a beach to start a 100km ride, through native forest with spectacular views of the lake and the mountains
- your tent and gear will be waiting for you somewhere at the half way point
- ride back to Kinloch or Taupo the next morning with a daypack, leaving your overnight gear for the shuttle

Please NOTE: The lines are only the scetch of the idea. The actual route will be determined through careful negotiations with the land owners!
