Kids Bike Taupō update

The Kids Bike Taupō van is flying along after it's reconditioned motor. Thank you again to Contact Energy for funding the work and to McPhail and Graeme Motors for doing it. 

With Term 4 just around the corner, we’re gearing up for an action-packed term full of biking fun and learning for Kids Bike Taupō. Term 4 is fully booked with Cath visiting many schools throughout the term.

The kids sessions will be running over Term 4 and no doubt busy as the weather gets warmer and the days get longer. As per the schedule we will be at the Taupo BMX club on Mondays, Craters Mountain Bike Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Crown Road Bike Track. All sessions 3.30pm to 5pm.

The last date for 2024 for the Kids sessions will be at Craters on Christmas Eve and we begin again on Monday 13 January 2025. 

The Community Bike Shed is open 3.30pm to 5pm on the first Friday of every month at 250 Spa Road.  We will also be there for the Repair Cafe Saturday 23 November. Simple bike repairs and some secondhand bikes available.

Kids Bikes Taupo often bring people together with a pre loved bike. We currently have plenty of adult ones but are in need of a lot more children's bikes.  If you have any good quality ones in your shed, please consider sending them to our shed.

The Santa Parade is on Sunday 1 December from 1pm. If anyone wants to bike with us please look for the Bike Taupo vans around Lake Terrace by the Fire Station and Mini Golf.  Dressing up bikes and people is optional but fun. Children will need to have their own adults with them.
