Excitement builds for the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge Kids Pedal Power Ride! 🚴‍♀️✨

Tongariro Street, Taupō – Saturday November 30th

Young riders are gearing up for a day of fun and friendly competition at the Kids Pedal Power Ride, a highlight of this weekend’s activities in Taupō. Held in conjunction with GJ Gardner, Kids Bike Taupō, and Pedal Safe, this free event promises a fantastic experience for tamariki and their families.

With the course situated right on Tongariro Street, next to the bustling Event Village, budding cyclists will take to the tar sealed track under a specially designed start/finish gantry.

The action kicks off at 1 PM for the under-6-year-olds, who will complete three laps, while the excitement ramps up at 2 PM for the 6–8-year-olds, tackling five laps.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the course will be fully marshaled, and the section of road will be closed to traffic during the event. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to cheer their kids on test their skills and build confidence on two wheels.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! The Event Village will be buzzing from 11 AM to 5:30 PM with activities for the whole whānau.

“This event is all about celebrating the joy of riding and giving kids a safe, fun environment to experience the thrill of cycling. It’s great to see families coming together to support their tamariki and enjoy a day of community fun.”
