Words of Wisdom from our Chair

P100039621-9903cf0514028a3c.jpeg

Well,  this has to be one very strange year!  We have gone from things being sort of normal to locked down, and now the world is running out of bikes!!

The one thing that the lockdown proved was how lucky we are to live in the Taupō area with all the bike tracks on our doorstep. Very few towns have tracks so close to town and we are guilty of taking this for granted sometimes. We saw every crappy old Mountainbike pulled out of the back of the garage and people young and old out on the tracks and belting around town!  The upshot of this is we are now seeing a lot more people on the tracks which is great!  Cath is still out in the schools and pre-schools getting kids on bikes, we now see these children starting to turn up in Craters and the BMX park. Fantastic!!

We have had a year of consolidation on the Huka Trails and Great Lake Trails with smaller improvements being the main focus. We are now well into rebuilding tracks in Craters after all the logging. We are also not far off starting the expansion into the old horse paddocks which will enable us to finally, after 16 years, have the outside loop around the Craters Park completed.  A lot of the new tracks will be dusty for two or three years until the trees grow, but we now have another 28 years before we start all over again!!

You may have seen us pushing the feedback forms for the Great Lake trail, even if you are a local, please fill these out for us as it assists us to obtain funding.  It’s very simple  “ No survey forms, No money” so please help us to help you!  Please see the link below:

We would also like to add a big thanks and Merry Xmas to all the track fairies 🧚‍♀️ who help keep the tracks open and bring their positive attitude to looking after the trails.

So, from all the Committee and Crew at Bike Taupo have a Merry Xmas and enjoy the riding both here and throughout NZ as there are some amazing riding to be had in this country :)

Regards, Pete Masters.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
