Winter Update

Kia Ora Bikers

Well, the colder weather has definitely hit and winter has arrived which is great for the ski fields! Unfortunately we are currently unable to run away to a warmer climate so this is a great opportunity to explore our own own backyards and what we have on offer right here in NZ.

Obviously, this would have to be mountain biking!  There is no better place than Taupo to get your mountain biking groove on, our pumice based soils offer us year-round riding with virtually no mud!

Taupo has been buzzing since lockdown so check out below whats on offer for you here over the school holidays and beyond....

Bit exciting to see Bike Taupo and the Taupo Pathways Licence to Work Programe feature on Seven Sharp news on Monday evening, if you missed it, click below:

Words of Wisdom from Our Chair

If there is one thing Covid 19 highlighted to us is how lucky we are to have our track system in our backyard. A big thanks to those track fairies who kept the tracks open and safe during lockdown!

The Craters track rebuild is going gangbusters with the working bee last month making a huge dent in Tank Stand downhill. The boys have also been working away on the Buzzard exit down to the Connection with both tracks being sort of rideable and should be totally open soon, (watch Facebook for updates)

We are having another working bee, as this was a great success last month and we hope to see you all again on:

Sunday 12th July  9am - 12pm

Drive down to the connection (first turn on right heading up to old carpark) the gate will be open and again bring your own tools!

We will be concentrating on the exit of Better than P back to the Connection which will be a new alignment as well as the Outback track over to Link road.

There are still heaps to rebuild, but the plan is to get the connection system up and running first. We will then look at the Retro and Luge areas as well as reinstating the old Young Pines area.

It’s great to be able to wash the bike now at the hub and the cafe is going full noise!

The GLT is getting loved to death and even better now we have another loop out of Kinloch.  W2K is 12 years old, and after riding around the headland the other day it needs a tidy-up like we have completed recently on the Kawakawa Bay track. So hopefully we can get to this later in the year.

Cycling Hub Carpark

The Cycling Hub area continues to progress.  We now have a bike wash by the shelter, BBQ tables and map boards to come in the shelter.  This area is starting to look fantastic, with a big thanks to Greening Taupo for the plantings around the underpass and car park.

The Expressway is traversing its way towards town, Scrag is just tidying up. Unfortunately we will not have enough money to complete the expressway but we are hoping there will not be too much of a gap! This will end up being a lovely roadside wander which connects the Hub to the Taupo township, a gravel base track which will be user friendly for all.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
